Course Content
Participants will gain an understanding of the operational mechanisms of the legislative system, acquire knowledge about the constitutional foundation and development of Hong Kong, and familiarize themselves with the principles and practices of the Basic Law.
By learning Design Thinking, utilizing innovative, problem-solving, and human-centered approaches, participants will learn how to apply design thinking to the political sphere and explore new policy solutions.
Participants will learn how to exert influence during parliamentary discussions, enhance their communication skills, and effectively express their viewpoints in parliamentary settings.
There will be opportunities to engage in simulated debates to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired, engage in mutual exchange with other participants, experience the power of debates, and enhance debating skills.
Course Timetable
There are four classes in total:
Session 1: 14/7/2024 Understanding the legislative system
Session 2: 21/7/2024 Learning design thinking
Session 3: 28/7/2024 Learning to speak in parliament
Session 4: 04/8/2024 Conduct a mock debate
